Background

Hank, his family, his mom and his dad run this USDA certified farm in College Grove, Tennessee.

They’ve been growing certified organic fruit & vegetables since 2001 in 3 growing seasons on 85 acres of land, the farm was originally Hank’s fathers and started in 1972. The farm sells its produce at wholefoods and organic markets, through their own CSA and farm store.
GROWING THE TWO BEARDS

GROWING THE TWO BEARDS

They believe in protecting the earth and the soil and that makes for healthier and more nutritious produce alongside the Harpeth river which is a great water source.

This year they are growing organic Two Beards hemp for Garden Om, on a plastic row with a drip tape to maintain a good temperature for the plants and keep the weeds down. All the harvesting is done by hand, cut using sheers and then dried in the barn over a few weeks. Hank will use the revenue from the Two Beards crop to help diversify his revenue, allowing him to grow more fresh fruit and vegetables for the local community in Tennessee.

On Sundays Hank tends to his bee hives which help to pollinate his crop, he’s been raising his own queens and harvesting his own honey. Hank: “We’re excited to grow a plant that helps people, and helps to combat the opioids, Two Beards is one of the sweeter varieties that I’ve smelt it’s not skunky at all.”
