Benefits Of Amla

Amla fruit powder is also known as Indian Gooseberry. It is a fruit that has been used for many years in India and Sri Lanka as an ingredient of traditional medicines, high in vitamin c with active antioxidant properties.

Amla is sometimes used as a medicinal plant in South America and West Africa. Its leaves are eaten as leafy vegetables. Amla grows well in tropical regions and can be found up to 2700 meters above sea level. They grow best in moist soil and need a lot of sunlight to thrive, helping the fresh Amla pulp to produce the high levels of vitamin C.

Amla powder is made from fresh raw Amla berries that are grounded into a fine powder. The skin of Amla fruit is removed before the berries are ground into small pieces. This ensures that the juice stays clear of added water or other preservatives.

They are often cooked with curry leaves and tamarind pulp and sprinkled with ground pepper for flavor.

Amla comes from the Sanskrit word amalika meaning “rejuvenator.” Amla powders have been used to address digestive issues, respiratory ailments, tumors, and skin problems.
